This is the lowest business class fare we currently list from each UK airport. London is the cheapest place to start, but the gap to the regions is narrower than many people expect, and once you count the time and cost of getting to Heathrow, a local departure is often the better trip.

Fares shown are indicative, per person and return, based on the lowest fare currently listed for each airport. What you pay depends on your dates, airline and seat availability, and prices can change daily. Edinburgh isn’t in the table, but Emirates normally flies there daily, so ask us to price it alongside Glasgow.

Dubai fares by cabin

If you are weighing up which cabin to book, these are the lowest fares we currently list for each on the Dubai route.

On these lead-in fares, moving from premium economy to business class adds £1,030 per person. On an overnight flight to Dubai, that buys a flat bed, lounge access and priority lanes at the airport. On a daytime flight home, the case rests more on space, quiet and a larger baggage allowance.

Direct or one-stop: which makes sense for Dubai?

For most UK travellers, direct is the obvious choice. London to Dubai takes about seven hours, and a connection adds several more. Timing matters as much as distance: many Emirates departures leave the UK in the evening and land in Dubai the next morning. When Emirates launched its A350 flight from Gatwick in February 2026, for example, it was scheduled to leave at 23:55 and arrive at 11:00 local time. After dinner service, that leaves only a few hours to sleep, which is why a flat bed matters more than the flight length suggests.

Airlines and business class cabins to Dubai

Emirates: check the aircraft, not just the airline

Emirates is the only airline offering direct business class flights to Dubai from UK airports outside London, and it has the most departure times from London too. Its business class is not a single product, though. The seat you get depends on the aircraft, and Emirates uses three types on its UK routes.

Aircraft swaps happen, and 2026 has seen more than usual. When we quote, we check the aircraft scheduled for your flight. If you are travelling alone and value privacy, it is worth choosing a departure operated by the A380, the A350 or a refurbished 777 rather than risking the middle block of the older 2-3-2 cabin. Emirates also includes its Chauffeur-drive service with eligible business class fares in selected cities, within set distance limits. It isn’t available on reward tickets or upgrades, and eligibility depends on the fare booked, so check the Emirates Chauffeur-drive terms or ask us to confirm it on your quote.

British Airways: Club Suite from Heathrow once flights resume

Before the 2026 suspension, British Airways normally flew from Heathrow to Dubai three times a day. BA’s Club Suite, which has a closing door and direct aisle access, is fitted across most of its long-haul fleet, and the route earns Avios for anyone collecting them. BA is scheduled to return on 25 October 2026 with one daily flight, adding a second from 29 November. Until then, Emirates is the only direct option.

Is business class worth it for a seven-hour flight?

It depends mostly on when you fly. Evening departures from the UK land in Dubai the next morning, so a flat bed is the difference between arriving rested and losing your first day. Coming home, many flights leave Dubai during the day and reach the UK the same evening, so business class on that leg is about space, quiet and the chance to work rather than sleep.

It tends to earn its cost in three situations. Business travellers with a meeting on the day they land get a proper night’s rest. Families benefit from lounge access and priority check-in, particularly around the busy evening departures. And if Dubai is the first leg of a longer journey, the onward flight is often longer than the first, so the whole trip benefits. Jet lag is modest either way: the UAE is four hours ahead of the UK in winter and three hours ahead during British Summer Time.

How to pay less for business class to Dubai

Lead-in fares are the starting point, not the promise. The fare you are quoted depends on a handful of decisions, and most of them are yours to make.

Move your dates away from school holidays. Dubai is one of the most popular winter-sun trips from the UK, so business class seats go first over October half-term, Christmas and New Year, February half-term and Easter. Shifting your trip a few days either side of a half-term week can make a real difference.

Price more than one airport. London has the lowest listed fare, but Manchester is only £121 more per person on our current lead-in fares, or £242 for two. Set that against the train fares, parking or airport hotel needed to start from Heathrow, and a Manchester departure often comes out ahead.

Book early for peak dates. For half-term and Christmas travel, the lower business class fare levels tend to sell first, so booking several months ahead pays off. Choose the right fare type, not just the lowest price. In 2026, a fare that allows date changes has been worth more than usual. The price difference between a restrictive and a flexible business class fare can be small, and we can price both side by side so you can decide.

Consider combined itineraries. Flying into Dubai and home from Abu Dhabi, or adding a beach stay further afield, can be priced as one itinerary, and we will compare it with separate bookings before you commit.

Best time to fly to Dubai from the UK

Two other things are worth knowing if your dates are flexible. Ramadan moves each year with the Islamic calendar, and in 2027 it is expected to begin in early February, depending on the sighting of the moon. Visitors are welcome throughout, but public behaviour is expected to be more conservative and working hours are shorter, which matters if the trip is for business. Dubai’s exhibition and conference calendar is also busiest between October and March, when major trade events can push up business class demand on specific dates.

Which UK airport should you fly from?

London has the lowest listed fare, £2,543, and the widest spread of departure times across Heathrow, Gatwick and Stansted. Gatwick and Stansted can be quicker to reach from Sussex, Kent and East Anglia, and Emirates added a fourth daily Gatwick flight in February 2026.

Manchester is the strongest regional option. Emirates normally flies three A380 services a day, and the lowest listed business class fare is £2,664, just £121 above London.

Birmingham and Newcastle both have direct Emirates flights. Birmingham, at £2,816, normally has two flights a day including an A380. Newcastle has the highest lead-in fare at £2,989, £446 above London per person, or £892 for a couple, but its daily flight saves travellers in the North East a train journey of around three hours to London before the trip has even started.

Scotland has two options. Glasgow, at £2,772, normally has a daily A380, while Edinburgh has a daily A350 with Emirates’ newest business class cabin. We can price both for the same dates.

Arriving in Dubai: entry rules and practical details

British citizens don’t need to apply for a visa in advance. A free visitor visa is stamped in your passport on arrival and allows stays of up to 90 days in any 180-day period. Your passport must be valid for at least six months from the date you arrive, so check the expiry date before you book. The UAE entry requirements on GOV.UK set out the detail.

Take particular care with medicines. The UAE requires advance approval for medication it classes as narcotic, psychotropic, controlled or semi-controlled, and visitors can bring no more than three months’ supply of any medicine. If you take prescription medication, check before you travel rather than at the airport.

Emirates flights use Terminal 3 at Dubai International, which is linked to the city by the Dubai Metro Red Line as well as taxis. If you are travelling for work, the UAE working week runs Monday to Friday, and many government offices close early on Fridays.

Using Dubai as a stopover

Dubai sits conveniently between the UK and the Indian Ocean, Asia and Australia, and Emirates connects its UK flights to a large network from the same hub. Popular combinations include a few nights in the city before business class to the Maldives or Mauritius, or breaking the long journey when flying business class to Perth.

A stopover is often priced more efficiently as one ticket than as separate bookings, and it keeps the whole journey on a single itinerary if schedules change. That point carries extra weight this year, as some connections through Dubai have involved longer waits than usual, so we check connection times carefully before you book.
